How-To: Make Windows “No” to Copying Files a Snap

The previous post got me thinking where else could you use such a similar hack to help you ignore applications or copying files. The first thing that came to my mind was making a “No to All” when copying files by mistake. Windows gives you the choice of Yes, Yes to All, No, or Cancel. It does not give you a “No to All” choice, so if you have 50 files being overwritten by a mistake then just press the SHIFT Key while you click on “No.” None of the files will be overwritten and you will save a lot of time.

How-To: Make Facebook Ignoring Requests a snap

If you are a Facebook user then most likely you get bombarded with a lot of Facebook applications or invites. Instead of wasting your time and clicking every “Ignore” button, you can use this Facebook hack that will click all the “Ignore” buttons in the same time saving you a lot of time.

 Instructions:

1. Click here to open up the site that contains the hack (http://www.ignoreall.com/)
2. Bookmark that website
3. Log on to your Facebook account
4. Make sure you are viewing the requests for invites and applications
5. Go to your Bookmarks
6. Click on the Ignore All website that was bookmarked before
7. All Ignore buttons should have been clicked.

How-To: Take the Chill Out of Winter Heating Costs

While you can’t control the winter weather, you can take steps to control your winter heating costs, and make your home warmer and more energy efficient.

 Doors and Windows

• Use weather stripping to seal up cracks and stop drafts on windows and doorframes.
• Use caulking to seal around gaps in windows and door glass.
• Install storm doors if you have them.
• Consider replacing older windows with newer, more efficient models.

 Insulation

• Add or replace attic insulation as necessary. Proper attic insulation is essential for keeping your house warm and saving energy.
• Ad foam insulation to electrical outlets and switches on external walls. (Turn OFF your power first!).

Heating System

• Clean or change furnace filters regularly throughout the heating season.
• Clean vents and other heating system components.
• Use a programmable thermostat to adjust temperature according to your daily and weekend schedule.

 Chimney and Fireplace

• Have the chimney and fireplace checked and cleaned by a professional.
• Repair or replace poorly fitting fireplace dampers that allow warm air to escape.

How-To: Retrieve Your Windows or Microsoft Office Product Key

I just wanted to post three freeware tools that I know that you guys can use in case you want to retrieve your Microsoft Office or Windows key from the program in case you have lost your CD with the product key. You could go through the long process of contacting Microsoft for retrieving your key or you can use these freeware utilities to get it in a second.

Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder – is a freeware utility that retrieves your product key that was used to register your Windows operating system or Microsoft Office Suite. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Windows Vista, Office XP, Office 2003, and Office 2007.

WinkeyFinder – is a website that offers several different freeware utilities to help you find not only your Office product key, but Vista’s product key. Beware: they have reported bugs and are still in the process of being fixed, so the utilities are still not stable.

RockXP – is a freeware program that is specifically designed to retrieving your Windows XP product key, but it will retrieve other Microsoft’s product keys. It has received high ratings and it’s recommended by many users.
